JackLeg was launched in the 1990s as a literary magazine connecting Tucson and Chicago-based writers through creative collaboration. It grew into a small press that operated from 2010 to 2015. In 2020, JackLeg was relaunched with a full editorial board and team. Since its relaunch, JackLeg has accepted over 40 titles, has a full publishing schedule through 2025, and is currently reviewing titles for 2025.
Because of its growth, the team is seeking additional support to review titles and help identify new works. We need support across all the genres we publish - poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. We are particularly interested in supporting and working with a diverse field of writers and emerging editors.
At JackLeg, we stress authenticity, collaboration, and bold thinking. JackLeg Press is writer-centric and believes in a collaborative partnership with our writers. We are 100% volunteer-driven. No contributions or revenue support our staff. Instead, earnings are reinvested into the press to support the development of our titles.
JackLeg employs an environmentally sustainable publishing model and a rigorous editorial process to bring the best new and familiar voices into the literary world.
